Arthur McKay and Emma Baird: Setting wheels in motion for Glasgow 2014

Arthur McKay is proud to announce sponsorship of Emma Baird, Scottish Track Cycling Champion and British Bronze Medallist.

Emma only began cycling in 2009 having previously been a 100m/200m runner and player for Hibernian FC until sustaining an impact shin injury.  In 2009 she was tested as part of the Gold4Glasgow initiative - a programme established to identify talented female athletes with potential to medal in Glasgow 2014.  Alongside 80 other athletes, Emma measured the highest power output, ideal for track sprinting.

In 2010, Emma became a member of City of Edinburgh Racing Club (Sir Chris Hoys Club) and became the Scottish Champion and achieved a bronze British medal in the Women's Team Sprint.

For now, Emma's sights are set on retaining her Scottish title, improving on her British Bronze Medal, with her long-term goal being to medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014.
