We are currently recruiting for a CAD Technician to join our passionate and driven team in Glasgow on a permanent basis!

The successful candidate will discuss new projects with the BIM Manager / Design Manager to obtain the required scope of works and work with the Design Engineers to produce schematics and 2D drawings Including As Fitted for Projects.

Duties will include

  • Establish job-specific folders for the project on the Design Drive.
  • Maintain Design Drive drawing information including management of both incoming and outgoing drawings.
  • Manage the drawing information distribution system including maintenance of records.
  • Attend site to record existing services information and undertake a survey of specific elements as necessary.
  • Preparation of drawings and technical back-up for Building Warrant and Planning Applications.
  • Production of the outline design and construction drawings detailing the designed services for approval by the Design Manager/Senior Engineer.
  • Production of co-ordination drawings
  • Participate in hand over meetings with the Estimating/Project Department Personnel. pre and post tender stages, respectively, as necessary.
  • Initiate the completion and use of Design QA documents and registers.
  • Ensure Auto-Cad files and procedures are maintained in full compliance with industry requirements.
  • Active participation in C.P.D, Seminars and training.

The successful candidate

  • An understanding of building services in terms of how systems are designed, installed and look is of great importance in carrying out the duties required of this role. Systems include; Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Domestic Hot and Cold Water Services, Above Ground Foul Drainage, Utilities, Small Power, Lighting, Emergency Lighting (internal and external), Fire Alarms, Security & Data - Mandatory
  • Experience in the production of Building Services Tender, Construction and Co-ordination drawings - Mandatory
  • A proven track record of working well within a team - Mandatory
  • Experience in the use of design package software including AutoCAD - Mandatory
  • Relevant formal qualifications relating to Building Services - Preferred
  • The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a pressurised environment.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage challenging demands.
  • Requires close attention to detail and accuracy.

Additional Information

This role will require Disclosure Scotland Clearance. Baseline or other similar security clearance may also be required.
